WOMEN'S FOOTBALL SECTION
A women’s football team represented Nottinghamshire Police from 1995 to 2003 in the East Midlands Ladies Football League. The team hosted, and finished second, in the first ever-national women’s police football tournament at Calverton in 2003. This team then disbanded owing to many players retiring from football.
A new team, made up of Police Officers, PCSOs and Support Staff, represented Nottinghamshire Police at the 2010 PSUK Women’s National Football Championships hosted by the Metropolitan Police at Bushey Sports Club, 16-18 April 2010.
The Notts Police Women's Football team competed against teams from all over the country and showed some exceptional talent and good team spirit. The team finished joint fourth and goals were scored by both more experienced and younger members of the team.
Interest in this section has been rejuvenated within Nottinghamshire Police from participating in this tournament and it is believed a team will be entered for next years PSUK tournament in Northumbria.
